How to Pray the Chaplet of the Precious Blood of Jesus

The month of July is traditionally dedicated to the Precious Blood of Jesus.

This veneration and deep meditation was started by Longinus, the Roman centurion who had pierced the side of Jesus with his lance (John 19:32-34). It is believed that he was almost blind, but when the Blood of Christ fell into his eyes, he was healed instantaneously.

Longinus exclaimed "Truly, this was the Son of God!" (Matthew 27:54).

His encounter, faith and conversion lead many other obtain a deeper understanding of the love of God and His ultimate sacrifice for us.

Picking up our rosary, we pray that everyone who reads this may be drawn closer to Jesus through reflecting on His holy wounds.

Before we begin, we call upon the Holy Spirit to lead us:

1. In our meditation and reflection of our sins and those of the whole world.

2. Into true contrition and conversion

3. In igniting our hearts to honour, worship and adore Him in the Holy Eucharist.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful

and enkindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.

And you shall renew the face of the earth. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. heal the Wounds in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The 1st Mystery: The Nailing of the Right Hand of our Lord Jesus

By the Precious Wound in Thy Right Hand and through the pain of the nail which pierced Thy Right Hand, may the Precious Blood that pours out from there, convert many souls and save sinners of the whole world. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

By the Precious Wound in Thy Left Hand and through the pain of the nail which pierced Thy Left Hand, may the Precious Blood that pours out from there relieve Souls in Purgatory and protect the dying against the attacks of evil spirits. Amen.

O Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, we honour, worship and adore You because of Your work of the everlasting covenant that brings peace to mankind. Heal the Wounds in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Console the Almighty Father on His throne and wash away the sins of the whole world. May all revere You, O Precious Blood, have mercy. Amen.
