About St. Michael the Archangel
He is the leader of all angels and of the army of God. As an Archangel, he is above all the others in rank.
St. Michael has four main duties:
- To combat Satan.
- To escort the faithful to heaven at their hour of death.
- To be a champion of the Church, the Body of Christ
- To call men from life on Earth to their heavenly judgment.
Why did we make this plushie?
We did an Instagram Poll on 16 March 2022; asking our followers to vote for their next plushie design!
55% of the voters chose St. Michael, and 23% chose St. Therese of Lisieux.
And so, we got to work!
After the illustration work was completed, we created a plushie sample.
However, some of the kids that we reviewed commented that it was too fierce and scary 😂
(Well, it is supposed to fight off evil...)
I guess little children still prefer their angels to be cute! 👼
We had to re-do the plushie sample before mass production.
With the frequent lockdowns in China, coupled with a typhoon delay, it was a long wait of 6 months before we finally received it in our hands.
How does it look like?
It is absolutely adorable!
The plushie is 30cm tall and made in a huggable size for both children and adults alike.
St. Michael's armour comes complete with:
1. Spaulders (read: medieval shoulder guards)
2. Breastplate with a cross ♰
3. Sword ⚔
4. Bracelets 🙅
He also has the fluffiest wings!
There was this sense of accomplishment. I suppose the wait was somewhat similar to how Mother Mary was waiting on baby Jesus to be born.
With this plushie, we hope that children will be brave and courageous (like St. Michael) in their pursuit of holiness.
And for adults who are struggling with temptations, pick up this plushie and pray for protection from evil!
St. Michael the Archangel Prayer
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits,
who prowl throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen!
